Texas Special Land Valuation (Ag Exemption) for Beekeeping

In Texas, property owners with 5 to 20 acres (6 to 21 acres if you have a home on the land)of land may qualify for a special "open space" land valuation if they use their property for raising honey bees. This provision, established under Texas Tax Code Chapter 23, Subchapter D, Sections 23.51 (1) and (2), can result in significant property tax savings for qualifying landowners.
